For the past few years I've been devoted to urban fantasy and paranormal romance. My all time favorites are Kate Daniels by Ilona Andrews, Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs, and both of Nalini Singh's series. Just to name a very few.
ReplyDeleteKate Daniels is my absolute favorite. I had the opportunity to meet Ilona and Gordon this past weekend. I handled it exactly as expected. I babbled like an idiot. Sadly Patricia Briggs was not at the Giant Book Fair. I have not read anything by Nalini Singh, but I have her Psy-Changeling series on my wish/tbr list. I've read Kate twice and I am on my second round of Mercy!
DeleteOh, and Happy Birthday a little early!
ReplyDeleteI read a lot of everything, but when I get burned out, I go back to science fiction romance or urban fantasy. Or PNR. I can't wait for Nalini Singh's new Psy-Changeling book to come out. But there are so many good books, and so little time!
ReplyDeleteHappy upcoming birthday!
I have the Psy-Changeling series on my wish/tbr list, but I have not read anything by her as of yet. She was at the Giant Book Fair in Chicago on 4/14, but I did not get to meet her :( Right now I am on an Urban Fantasy kick.
DeleteHappy birthday! thanks for emailing me your giveaway info:) I like mostly supernatural romance. I love Patricia Briggs, and Laurell K Hamilton and many other authors, Kim Harrison is a big favorite too. so many books so little time, lol
ReplyDeleteThank you for the birthday wishes! I've read all of those. In fact I'm rereading the Mercy Thompson series right now.; although, I haven't been able to stomach the Anita Blake series since Bullet. Urban Fantasy with at least a touch of romance is my favorite. Good Luck with the giveaway!
DeleteMy favorite author is Jacqueline Carey! I love her Kushiel's Legacy Series! I'm also a Twilight person. And since reading Twilight I've gotten into a lot of young adult series.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard of Jacqueline Carey. I will have to look into her. Have you read the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. I'm very picky about my YA, and Vampire Academy made the cut as well as the spin-off series, Bloodlines. I had taken a reading break for many years and I credit Twilight with reigniting my desire to read. Since you like Twilight and erotica, have you read the Fifty Shades trilogy. Either you love it or hate it, I love it.
DeleteAnd... I apparently have no clue how to use question marks :)
DeleteJacqueline Carey isn't young adult though. It's very much adult. She has her Kushiel's Legacy series that I love. The first one is Kushiel's Dart. I have not read the Fifty Shades Trilogy. I'm picky about my YA books as well. I love that we have goodreads. I love going through and looking at the suggestions and searching around. I've put so many books on my "to read" list it's not funny! LOL. I'll still get them from the library though, read them, and there have been a couple I just couldn't finish because I couldn't get into them. If you like Twilight, have you tried the Evermore series by Alyson Noel? That series has a "twlight" feel to it. I think you'd love them!
DeleteAnd I love Laurell K Hamilton as well! She's probably my 2nd favorite author!
DeleteEverything. I love to read everything. As long as it's nonfiction, I'm willing to touch any and every genre. And I'm not kidding.
ReplyDeleteCan't say I have a favorite series. There's so many awesome ones that bring out the fangirl in me. If I had to guess though, I'd probably say that my favorite author is Nora Roberts. But I'm slowly going back to the cop out answer of not having a fave... lol
Nora is iconic. Who doesn't love her :)
DeleteToo many awesome series out there but i guess if i have to say Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse Series
ReplyDeleteSookie Stackhouse is one of my favorites. Sookie 12 is out today!
DeleteI love the Sookie Stackhouse series too! I can't wait to read the next one!
DeleteFirst off Happy Birthday! I love to read ,science fiction romance urban fantasy, or supernatural mostly it seems like. I love the Hunger Games, Tiger's Curse, Anita Blake Vampire Hunter books, Mercy Thompson books, The Princess Bride, The Host, Twilight, War Horse, the In Death books, Alpha & Omega books, Paranormalcy books, (The Infernal Devices, Court Duel and Crown duel, Song of the Lioness books,... the list could go on and on... I know I love a book when I can't put it down, and these are some of the ones that were like that.:) sorry for the long list.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the birthday wishes. Although your list is long, it is diverse and ALWAYS enjoy checking out new reading opportunities. Good luck with the giveaway!
DeleteI love to read Paranormal books. Ilona Andrews is my fav author.
ReplyDeleteI second and third your vote for Ilona Andrews. I had the opportunity to meet Ilona and Gordon recently. They were fabulous.
DeleteI read a lot of fantasy, some sci-fi, and some trashy (or hilariously bad) paranormal romance. I am a huge fan of the Women of Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong, the whole Mercy Thompson series, Kate Daniels in all her g(l)ory, and many others, but my favorite series is The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Happy birthday a little early, it's my birthday today! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, shameless plug. Here's the blog I review for: http://myawfulreviews.blogspot.com/
We have similar reading tastes. I recently reread Kate Daniels and I'm currently rereading Mercy Thompson. I'm not much for rereading, but they are so awesome it is like reading them for the first time.
DeleteFavorite series...will always be Harry Potter. I'm one of them :), but after Harry, I'm in love with Cassandra Clare. Unfortunately I've been a bit behind in my reading so I'm not on top of any new stuff :(
ReplyDeleteAnd....Happy birthday!
I love Harry Potter. Cassandra Clare is on my tbr/wish list. I hope to get to it soon.
DeleteThanks for the birthday wishes!

ReplyDeleteHi Franny,
ReplyDeleteI wish you a Happy Birthday. :)
I read romance, especially PNR. My favorite authors are Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole, Karen Chance, Jeaniene Frost, Jennifer Crusie, Susan Donovan, and many more. :)
Thanks for the invitation, Franny.
Have a nice day. :)
Thank you for the birthday wishes. I've read and enjoy all of those except Gena Showalter. I LOVE Jennifer Crusie. I had the opportunity to meet her a few years ago at a signing for 'Maybe This Time.' It was quite an experience.
DeleteThere are so many books that i enjoy reading....right now i am really into the Cassie Palmer series as well as the Greywalker ones. Anything to do with suspence and the paranormal really. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved Cassie Palmer. Greywalker is on my tbr/wishlist, but I probably won't start it until shortly before the 3rd book is released. I find that I do not have the patience to wait for each subsequent book on brand new series. Especially if I really like the book.
DeleteOH MY GOSH!! I absolutely LOVE Cassie and Karen Chance is kind of sort of pretty much my favorite author (well only at the moment, but it has been this moment for a while). I recommend reading her other series, taking place in the same world but with Mircea's daughter, Dorina Basarab, as the main character. And a new Dory book comes out this October! :D
DeleteLol. I've read Dory's books too :-) You'll be hard pressed to find a good Urban Fantasy I haven't read or haven't got on my tbr/wishlist.
DeleteI mostly read YA so I have a ton of favs. to name a few, Jennifer Armentrout, Lauren Oliver, Lisa Schroeder. I could be here all day LOL!
ReplyDeleteI also love Janet Evanovich, Kristan Higgins, Patricia Biggs, Ilona Andrews and Jeanine Frost to name a few. :)
I also love Janet Evanovich, Kristan Higgins (see my review on Somebody to Love), Patricia Briggs, Ilona Andrews (My all time favorite) and Jeaniene Frost.
