Not Sure What to Read Next???

We've all been in that slump where we just finished an AWESOME book or series and we don't know what to read next. We're afraid that because of the AWESOMENESS we just finished, our next book won't even compare. You are probably right, but don't let that stop you from moving forward.

I've been there on more than one occasion and I've rarely had someone to help me over the reading slump. I've read book reviews, used sites like goodreads and Amazon to help me through, sometimes successful, sometimes not so much.

Need advice? Let me know what you read last, how you felt about it, do you want more like it or something different? What will you absolutely NOT read? I'll take all this information and make recommendations. Comment here and I'll respond.

  1. I have felt that way. And I also have a bad habit of re reading the same books over and over. There's something about being in the middle of a really good book that's so comforting. You can't wait to get home and curl up and read it. So when I feel like I just finished a good one and not sure where to go, I'm really bad about re reading an oldie. Some of the re readers for me are Gone with the Wind (3 times), The Shining (4 times at least), The Color Purple (about 3 times), Mommie Dearest (3 times), and Follow the River (3 times at least). I think I read The Da Vinci Code more than once too.
I did recently read The Help and it was FANTASTIC. I burned through it in a weekend.
I do love to read though and would read a good book on a recommendation. I'll have to check out your reviews and pick a new one next time!

  2. If you haven't read the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, I HIGHLY recommend it. The first book is One for the Money. It is one if my all time favorite book series. It falls within the Romantic Comedy genre, more comedy than romantic. It is about a former lingerie buyer turn bounty hunter. She is probably one of the worst bounty hunters ever. The situations she gets herself into are hilarious.
